Women On-The-Go
The Work Diary of a Social Media Creative for Eveni, finding harmony in motherhood, modelling and marketing campaigns
If you flick through Eveni Pacific's Instagram stories with aesthetically pleasing layouts to the latests instore must-haves, know that Teuila Ami Laban is the one behind the screen.
Starting out as a Fashion Stylist, the Saipan-born, mother-of-one now expresses her passion for fashion as a Content Creator for the social media platforms and websites viewed by thousands of Eveni's followers each day.
Her daily grind means balancing between coordinating photo shoots, reviewing upcoming models & fittings, as well as styling and shooting Behind-The-Scenes footage; a task that is somewhat hectic with the multiple store locations around the Pacific.
She says, "Everyday is a challenge. If not at work, then at home watching over my son. I'm new to the work force and motherhood, so there's quite a few times where I feel like quitting. It's always important to remember why you started."
In her down-time, this fashionista cherishes time with her son and family; watching Insta-makeup tutorials or checking out a new release at the Cinemas.
Tuesday
7:00 a.m. Even when I don’t sleep well, I always wake up early, no alarm clock needed. I got used to this due to my son’s early morning wake ups as a newborn.
11:00 a.m. We’ve started taking on more photo and content creation for Instagram, so I've been working daily on Artcraft for Instagram/Facebook stories and advertising the new arrivals and colours instore and at our other locations.
3:30 p.m. I worked on updating the online website store for the Eveni Pacific Women’s Clothing. Ran a review and checked whether available stock info was correct. Also reviewed our last photo shoot images and picked my favourites to run for the social media accounts.
7 p.m. Quick catch-up with a few cousins who were travelling overseas, followed by a dinner night out at Paddles.
11:30 p.m. Watched “Game of Thrones” before bed.
Wednesday
8:30 a.m. Worked on getting the Latest Arrivals sorted and merchandised. Part of this is ensuring there is enough storage space for new and more stock as well as rack-space for display. Had a quick meeting on the new styles.
11:00 a.m. Helped a family with a color-match outfit as some sizes of their chosen colors were not available. Took some time but in the end, the family was satisfied with their final color. It was not easy!
1:00 p.m. Had lunch at my all time fav Mr Chicken and listening to the new song Blinding Lights by the Weekend, it has a pretty cool beat!
3:30 p.m Model fittings for the upcoming photo shoot. Updated our marketing calendar & ran a quick poll on IG story on our new arrivals. Also edited the Eveni Pacific Men’s department TikTok video.
Saturday
7:00 a.m Breakfast was buttered toast and coffee. My son woke me up wanting his bottle of milk so mixed one up for him.
Applied Daytime makeup. I’ve recently started wearing false lashes to work due to eyelash hair loss but I hate it! If I'm rushing and they're not glued on properly, they're irritating. -_-
10:00 a.m Arrived at work and began reviewing the photoshoot script for the shoot at Nourish Cafe and Digicel. We had model cancel last-minute so quickly worked in finding a replacement. Re-scheduled a last-minute fitting and hair & makeup.
10:30 a.m Added final touches and accessories to the models before leaving for my appointments. I'm modeling today as well!
Accessories are usually based on their figure type and colours that suit their skin tone.
1:00 p.m. The Photographers and Managers were waiting, by the time I arrived. Another Eveni Stylist was also there to help manage the outfits and ensure the models were changing according to the photoshoot script. After shooting, the models were gifted some goodies. It was a super fun experience!
8:00 p.m. Knocked out early. I was exhausted from the shoot!
